Sandra Kay (Daniel) Edens

Mrs. Sandra Kay (Daniel) Edens, age 77, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023.  Graveside services will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, with Pastor Michael Nemec officiating.

Sandra was born April 22, 1945 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Files and Lorene (Enders) Daniel.  She grew up and attended schools in Hillsboro and graduated from High School in 1963.  On March 21, 1964, she married James Keith Edens, and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2020.  Over the years they owned and operated numerous businesses in Hillsboro with the last being Edens Funeral Home until their retirement in 2005.  Since then, Sandra has enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and being a part of numerous local clubs and organizations.  She was a  member of Monday Review Club, Hillsboro Garden Club, Hill County Republican Women, Friends of Hillsboro City Library and served as a board member of the Hillsboro Heritage League.  Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with cancer in 2013, but with overwhelming strength and grace, she has courageously fought the disease until it finally overtook her physical ability. 

Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loyal friend to all who knew her.  She will be dearly missed, and her memory will be cherished forever.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Sandra is preceded in death by one brother, Mike Daniel.  Survivors include her son, James Kirby Edens and Jackie, of Hillsboro; her daughter, Kimberly Ann Lewis and Mike of Crowley; two grandsons, Ryan Edens and Dustin Crenwelge; three granddaughters, Rylie Edens, Brooke Cagle, and Ashley Crenwelge; two great-granddaughters, Cora and Greenlee Cagle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
