Teresa Lois (Haynes) Hansen

Teresa Haynes Hansen, age 65, of Morgan, TX passed away on September 8, 2021 peacefully at her residence.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and wonderful friend to many.  Teresa loved to laugh, especially at the numerous pranks she pulled on her kids.  Her silly humor and contagious smile are already greatly missed. 

She was born in Fort Worth on March 25, 1956. While still attending high school, she began working for Fort Worth National Bank. Teresa graduated from Richland High School in 1974 and continued developing her banking career even as she traveled to California and briefly settled there. Prior to an early retirement she was responsible for deposit investigations for individuals and corporate accounts for Chase Bank in Arlington. 

Teresa was a proud US Navy mom. She especially loved living at Lake Whitney, where she enjoyed fishing and star gazing when she wasn’t tending to her latest gardening extravaganza, or updating her rock garden with the worldly rocks she collected from places like Cuba, Colorado, Oklahoma, California and Hawaii. 

She will be remembered as a selfless, resilient momma bear who always maintained her compassion and love for her kids even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength, and a beautiful soul. Teresa was always helping people, without the expectation of something in return. Teresa could rekindle the spark to a once lit flame, and no matter the challenge she would face it wholeheartedly. 

Teresa is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Chance Hansen and mother, Wanda L. Haynes.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Hansen; grandson, Landen; brother, John P. Rowland and wife, Rachel; sister, Wanice Rowland Brown and husband, Dwight; special cousins, Dana Hord and husband, Roy, and Roseann Hall; nephews, John C. Rowland, Blake A. Brown and Sean P. Rowland.
