Theresa Jo (Kindle) Powell

Theresa Jo Powell, age 75, of Whitney passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, in Hillsboro. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2021, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Waco with Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Facial masks and social distancing are encouraged.

Theresa was born July 18, 1945, in Paris, Texas, to Travis and Myrtle Adell (McFerrin) Kindle. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved cooking, crossword puzzles, and QVC shopping.  Theresa also loved to have a bowl of HEB’s 1905 ice cream.  She would always say it was better than Blue Bell.

Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Rhonda Matlick.

Theresa is survived by her children, Laura Duke and husband, Leon, and Lawrence E. Powell, II; brothers, Jack Kindle and Aubrey Kindle; 6 grandchildren, Lacy Hanson, Lindsey Duke, Jeffery Powell, Jenna Davis, Jerrod Powell, and Jonathon Powell; and 6 great-grandchildren, Landri Jo, Lawson, Jeremy, Ryker, Axle, and Austin.
