Vernon Ray Loveless, 81, of Milford, passed away Monday evening September 14, 2020, in Waxahachie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6-8p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2020, at the funeral home.
Vernon was born in Hill County on September 26, 1938, to William Vernon and Beulah (Easterwood) Loveless. He attended school in Irene and graduated from Bynum High School in 1956. He then attended Navarro College in Corsicana and also UTA in Arlington. Vernon was united in marriage to Barbara Alice Brown on November 26, 1958, in Irene. He began his working career at Bell Helicopter and eventually went into farming, which he did for the rest of his life. He retired from working with the South Ellis County Water Supply Corporation. Vernon’s favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He always supported his son's teams that he coached over the years. Vernon also enjoyed photography, fishing and dove hunting. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Italy.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Ronald Dean Loveless; and sister, Linda Janelle Loveless.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Alice Loveless; children, Kathy Loveless, Darrel Loveless, and Mike Loveless and wife, Nikia; mother-in-law, Alice Loree Brown; grandchildren, Kasen Loveless, Natalia Loveless, and Kaleb Loveless; brothers-in-law; Ronald Dean Brown and wife, Pamela and William Larry Brown and wife, Julia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special mention to his mentees Jason Hamby, Chad Hamby, Barry Pickard, Butch Bryant, Josh Droll, Jordan Droll, and Jason Sutherland.
