William Daniel (Will D.) Strickland

William Daniel (Will D) Strickland, 93, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Peoria Cemetery, with Kelby Williams officiating.

Will D was born August 11, 1928, in Axtell, Texas to James Melton (Jim) and Maggie (Thrasher) Strickland. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kathryn (Halbert) Strickland on March 10, 1950, in Hillsboro, Texas. They were blessed with seventy-two years of marriage.

Will D was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Danny Lee, and William Andrew (Andy); his daughter, Judy Graham; his granddaughter, Tabitha Wallace; his great-grandson, Bo Jake Vaughn; his sisters, Inez Breitkreutz and Thelma Jones; his brothers, Cecil, Clifton (Bud), Odis, Bobby Joe, Jimmy, and Vernon.

Will D is survived by his wife, Kathryn Strickland; his son, Larry Strickland and wife Sharmon of Hillsboro, Texas; his daughter, Cathey Keefer and husband Marv of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his daughter, Vickie Middleton and husband Frank of Rockdale, Texas; daughter-in-law, Eva Strickland of Orange Grove, Texas; granddaughter, Chelsey Strickland of Hillsboro, Texas; grandsons, Chad Wallace of Norfolk, Virginia, Greg Middleton and wife Shannon of Cross Roads, Texas, Brent Marbut and wife Amanda of Whitney, Texas, Billy Spencer of Porter, Texas, and Robert Spencer of Corpus Christi, Texas; granddaughters, Sarah Vaughn and husband Michael of Hillsboro, Texas, and Andrea Henry of East Bernard, Texas; great-grandchildren Cole Strickland, Taylor Vaughn, Toby Vaughn, Tucker Vaughn, Easton Marbut, Landry Marbut, Chloe Wallace, Tiernan Wallace, Miranda Henry and Hannah Middleton; his brother, Leo Strickland of Arlington, Texas; and his sisters-in-law, Kitty, Barbara, and Dorothy Strickland. 

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department in his name.
