Winston Leon Ward

Winston Leon Ward, age 67, of Whitney passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, in Ft Worth, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney with Rev. Greg Johnson officiating. In the event of rain the service will be moved to the chapel at Marshall and Marshall in Whitney, Texas. Facial masks and social distancing are required.

Winston was born on March 15, 1953, in Clifton, Texas to Walton and Betty Ward. He graduated from Everman High School and attended Tarrant Community College. He was a brick mason for 30 years with the Fort Worth Local Union and retired to his farm where he enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing. His grandchildren, Riley and Ryker, were his greatest loves.  He enjoyed watching them play baseball and would always be there cheering them on. His favorite times were taking the boys fishing.  He was known for catching and cooking catfish. They all truly enjoyed the times spent at the farm. He will be missed.

Winston had a passion for life and loved his family deeply and made sure they knew it. He worshiped his daughter, Sloan. He was compassionate with a strong faith in God and was a member of The First Nazarene Church in Whitney. His pastor and great friend, Greg Johnson, will be doing the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Winston is survived by his daughter, Sloan Tobin and her husband, Kevin; grandsons, Riley and Ryker Tobin of Rowlett, Texas; sister, Pam Bean of Whitney; brother, Chad Ward and his wife, Sonya, of Cleburne, Texas; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
