Zela "Tippie" (Horne) Sullins

Zela Mae "Tippie" Horne Sullins, age 92, of Hillsboro passed away February 16, 2021, at Homestead Nursing Home in Hillsboro, TX. She will lie in state on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. A private burial will be held. Face masks and social distancing are required.

Tippie was born February 27, 1928, in the Woodbury Community of Hill County, daughter of the late Finis Ewing Horne and Lady Zela Richards Horne.  On October 12, 1944, she was united in marriage to R. D. Sullins in Hillsboro, TX. During her working career, she worked for Hillsboro Clinic, Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, and Corsicana Production Credit in Hillsboro. Tippie was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

She was Preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Sullins on October 30, 2011; son, Charles Ewing Sullins; sister Roberta Horne Clanton; and a grandson, Ethan Patton.  

Tippie is survived by her three children, Brenda Sullins Fleming & husband Mike, Sylvia Sullins Lake & husband Martin, Randy Sullins and wife Gladys; daughter-in-law Paula Sullins; sister, Sue Horne Hunsinger; 11 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
